DHAKA: Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu urged investors to invest in power generation from alternative energy sources on Monday.

He made the remark while addressing a seminar titled ‘Accreditation: Energy Resource Guarantees’ at Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and industries (DCCI) auditorium as the chief guest.

Minister of Industries said there the country can not meet the needs of generating electricity. “Investors should come forward to produce power from alternative sources of energy.”

The new four testing organizations were given accreditation in the seminar while Bangladesh Accreditation Board (BAB) and DCCI jointly organized it.

The four organizations are Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services (Bangladesh) Ltd, Nestle Bangladesh Sreepur QA Laboratory, Fish Inception and Quality Control Laboratory Chittagong, Fish Inception and Quality Control Laboratory Khulna.

University of Dhaka’s Applied Physics, Electronics and Communication Engineering Department Professor Zahid Hasan Mahmud presented the keynotes in the seminar.

DCCI President M Shahjahan Khan and BAB Director General Abu Abdullah addressed programme with BAB Chairman Altaf Hossain presided over the seminar.
