DHAKA: Former president of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Enamul Haque Shamim, also central committee member of Awami League, sustained bullet wound in an attack by miscreants on Thursday morning. 

The incident took place at 10:00am in capital’s Dhanmondi area.

Ramna Zone DC Maruf Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.

When contacted, Dhanmondi thana Sub-Inspector Motiur Rahman told banglanews that Shamim came out of home for going to his office. Then three miscreants riding on a motorbike opened fire targeting him, leaving him injured critically.

Later, he was taken to Bangladesh Medical College Hospital.
