DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Thursday sent 24 activists of Bangladesh Islami Chhatri Sangstha, female students’ wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, to jail rejecting remand and bail pleas.

The court also ordered that the women police members could interrogate the accused in jail gate during four days.

Judge of Metropolitan Magistrate Court Ataul Haq passed the order in the afternoon after remand hearing when investigation officer and also Sub-Inspector of Khilgaon Thana Sheikh M Kamruzzaman produced them before the court with 5-day remand plea.

On Wednesday, police arrested 24 activists of Islami Chhatri Sangstha from Khilgaon Thana area of the city.

The SI said police raided in the area and apprehended them as the law enforcing agency had information that Chhatri Sangstha activists were holding a secret meeting in the area.
