No justice in country, says Ershad

RAJSHAHI: Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad, also special envoy to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, on Saturday said people in the country have become panicked apprehending being kidnapped at any moment.

“There is no justice in the country at this moment. Police do not file cases if even activists of ruling Awami League are murdered,” he said.

The former President of the country made the observation while addressing the bi-annual meeting of district Jatiya Party at Doctor Kaisar Rahman Memorial Auditorium of RMCH in the noon.

He also said, “The people have lost their confidence on law and the people from all walks of life, including the supporters of incumbent government also are insecured now.”

Ershad added: “This is why there is no alternative of bringing JP to power to establish the rule law and order in the country.”

Former President also said, “In the present context, only JP can establish the rule of law.”

Criticising BNP, he said, “They have lost their power. Jatiya Party is the alternative that people are looking for.”

He also said, “They have become organizationally weak and cannot stage movements to oust government.”

He also urged people to make Jatiya Party strong.

With district JP president Hafizur Rahman in the chair, the function was also addressed, among others, by Water Resources Minister and presidium member of JP Anisul Islam Mahmud, secretary general of the party Zia Uddin Ahmed Bablu and joint secretary general Advocate Rezaul Islam Bhuiyan.

Some 590 councilors and 5,000 delegates participated in the meeting.
