CHITTAGONG: Former MP (Member of Parliament) of Chittagong-16 (Banshkhali) constituency Sultanul Kabir Chowdhury, also Awami League leader, passed away at his residence in the capital early Monday.

He was 68.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Chittagong south district Awami League president Moslem Uddin said the former MP breathed his last around 4:30am due to heart attack.

He will be buried at Garibullah Shah Mazar in the port city after two rounds of Namaz-e-Janaza at Banshkhali Ideal High School and Laldighi Maidan.

The freedom fighter was also the president of Juba League central committee and senior vice president of Chittagong South district Awami League.
