DHAKA: Terming Awami League an abandoned party, BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir urged the government to give mid-term election.

Fakhrul made the plea while addressing a protest meeting at Jatiya Press Club on Sunday.

“After January 5 polls, Awami League have become a politically insolvent and abandoned party,” Fakhrul said.

“Please come in the street without RAB and police to show who the movement oriented party are. Give mid-term election under the supervision of caretaker government. Otherwise, you will face tough consequence,” the BNP spokesperson said.

Forewarning the government, Mirza Fakhrul said if BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia falls in trouble, government will have to be liable for it.

Swadhinata Forum organized the meeting on the occasion of three years anniversary of attack on BNP publicity secretary Zainul Abdin Farooque.
