DHAKA: State Minister for Home Affairs Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Thursday said the killers of Maulana Nurul Islam Farooqui would be identified soon.

He made the assertion while talking to journalists at his secretariat office in city in the noon.

Khatib of Supreme Court Jam-e-Mosque Maulana Farooqui is also a central leader of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat.

In response to a question Kamal said, “I have visited the spot immediately after the incident.”

“Law enforcers will investigate and identify the guilty people shortly,” he said.

On Wednesday night, some unidentified miscreants slaughtered Maulana Nurul Islam Farooqui, moderator of popular Islamic program ‘Kafela’ of private television channel Channel-I, at his East Raza Bazar residence in city.

Meanwhile, victim’s son Faisal Farooqui filed a case with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Thana early Thursday in this connection.

Ahle Sunnat Jamaat declared several programs protesting the killing.

Besides this, Islami Chhatra Sena called a hartal for Sunday.
