DHAKA: Ruling Awami League joint general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif on Saturday criticized BNP saying that they (BNP) are doing their politics with religion and body.

He said, “BNP and Jamaat have realized that they have no ground under their feet. They have become political bankrupt. So, they are politics with religion and body.”

The spokesperson for the party came up with the observation while addressing a discussion meeting organized marking the 50th birth anniversary of Sheikh Russell at Dhanmondi on Saturday noon.

Regarding BRAC University Professor Dr Piash Karim, he said, putting question, why they wanted to take the body of Piash Karim to the Central Shaheed Minar.

He added: “Shaheed Minar is a sacred place, not a place to display dead body.”
