DHAKA: A group of post-deprived Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) leaders and activists chased BNP joint-general secretary Salahuddin Ahmed in front of the party’s central office Saturday.

They also burned effigies of BNP leader Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee and former JCD leader Salahuddin Tuku.

Earlier, the group, led by former JCD organizing secretary Anisur Rahman Talukdar Khokon chased BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir at 1:15pm on Saturday.

Other BNP leaders saved Fakhrul from the agitated JCD leaders and activists.

Later, around 1:50pm the JCD men confined Fakhrul in the party office and chanted slogans refusing the newly-formed committee.

However, the post-deprived JCD leaders and activists have been arranging demonstrations since after the declaration of the new committee for JCD.
