‘Militant financing to be stopped’

DHAKA: Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury on Sunday said militant financing would be stopped at any cost.

The ruling Awami League lawmaker made the assertion while addressing a seminar regarding responsibilities of micro-credit institute in social development and removing poverty held at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) in city.

Matia said those who are providing micro-credit privately, should also be taken under observation. “It should also be checked whether the militants are being financed by micro-credit,” she added.

She, however, mentioned that it would create anarchy if anyone is in under control and others remain out of control.

With Palli Karma Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) President Dr Khalikuzzaman in the seminar, the seminar was also addressed by Finance Minister AMA Muhith.
