CHITTAGONG: Ruling Awami League’s student wing Bangladesh Chhatra League filed a case against 17 railway staff including Chittagong railway station master and GRP Thana Officer-in-Charge in the port city on Tuesday.

Chittagong city Chhatra League assistant office secretary Ashraf Uddin Titu filed the case with the Chittagong Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Justice Mashiur Rahman.

Bench Assistant of CMM Court Nur Khoda Tareq confirmed the matter to banglanews.

On August 27, Chhatra League applied for 380 tickets to join in a rally of August 31. But railway authorities refused to give the tickets and at one stage railway police assaulted a BCL activist.

Following the matter at night on August 27, BCL activists attacked the railway station.

Later, Station Master and GRP Thana Officer-in-Charge were in forced leave.
