CHITTAGONG: A Chittagong court on Wednesday deferred the indictment hearing against war crimes convict BNP leader Salauddin Quader Chowdhury’s to November 10 in two vehicle torching cases.
District Session Judge AKM Nasiruddin Mahmud passed the order in the presence of Salauddin Quader Chowdhury.
Earlier on Thursday, Salauddin Quader Chowdhury was taken to Chittagong jail from Kashimpur jail in Gazipur.
As per the case statement, two vehicles were vandalized and set on fire in separate incidents in Bashbaria and Salimpur areas in Sitakunda upazila of the district on November 7, 2010.
Later, police arrested three people from Bashbaria and another one from Salimpur.
The arrestees confessed before the court that they torched the vehicles as per the order of Salauddin Quader Chowdhury.
On October 1, 2013, Salauddin Quader Chowdhury was sentenced to death for his involvement in crimes against humanity during liberation war in 1971.
