DHAKA: Ruling Awami League leader Dr Hasan Mahmud demanded to send BNP senior vice president Tarique Rahman to mental correction center for his recent indecent remarks on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Premier Sheikh Hasina.
The former minister came up with the demand while addressing a discussion meeting at Dhaka Reporters Unity in the city on Wednesday morning.
He said, “Former President and BNP founder Ziaur Rahman and BNP Chief Khaleda Zia failed to teach proper manner to their son Tarique Rahman.”
So, Tarique should be sent to correction center to learn courtesy, he added.
He also criticized the activities of all human rights organizations and questioned their roles during the Gaza war. The organizations hanker after imperialism, he added.
Hasan Mahmud also praised Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for raising her voice at the parliament against the attack in Gaza.
He also said BNP is a traditional party and there are several polite leaders in the party and they should send Tarique to correction center to learn courtesy.
Former State Minister for Home Shamsul Haque Tuku said there are two manners of politics in Bangladesh. One is in favor of independence cognition which is led by Sheikh Hasina and another is against it and this party is led by Khaleda Zia.
He also claimed that the mass people of the country are not with any protest of Khaleda, he added.
Senior leader of ruling Awami League Haji Mohammad Selim presided over the program.
He said Tarique is fugitive and out of sense. Tarique is staying at abroad and telling nonsense, he added.
He also asked the television channels of Bangladesh not to telecast any message of Tarique.
