NATORE: A leader of Awami League was beaten to death by miscreants in Krisnapur area under Bagatipara upazila of the district on Saturday noon.

The deceased was identified as Mozammel Hossain Moznu, 62, Vice-president of Natore Municipal unit Awami League.

Family sources said a gang of miscreants intercepted the bike, riding the victim, and beat him up while he was returning home around 12:30pm, leaving him dead on the spot.

Later, on information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body from the spot.

Bagatipara Thana Officer-in-Charge Aminur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
