‘Political parties must sit to solve problems’

DHAKA: Visiting Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Saturday said all the political parties have to sit together to find out internationally acceptable ways to solve the ongoing political crisis in Bangladesh.

This was told to journalists after a meeting between Shinzo Abe and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in a city hotel.

Khaleda Zia greeted Shinzo Abe and thanked for visiting Bangladesh as a first Japanese Prime Minister in 14 years.

Recalling that the help of Japan is vital for the development of Bangladesh, she also expressed hope that the ongoing socio-economic relation between the two countries will be stronger in the future.

Besides, Abe also hold a courtesy meeting with the opposition leader in the Jatiya Sangsad Raushan Ershad from 7:15pm to 7:45pm.

Opposition Chief Whip Tajul Islam Chowdhury told the journalists that the two leaders talked about bilateral issues.

They also talked about investment in ready made garments and textile sector of the country, he added.

Raushan Ershad also invited Abe to visit the villages of Bangladesh, Chief Whip Tajul Islam Chowdhury added.
