DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Sunday rejected the bail plea of Motijheel Thana Awami League general secretary Jahidul Islam Tipu for his alleged involvement in murder of Juba League leader Riazul Haque Khan Milki.

Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Jakia Parvin passed the order on Sunday.

The court also ordered to send him to jail.

Earlier on August 20, Tipu surrendered at the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court and appeal for bail but the court sent him to jail denying bail plea.

On July 29, 2013 Juba League (South) organizing secretary Riazuddin Khan Milki was shot to death by miscreants in Gulshan area of the capital.

Milki's murder sparked wide sensation as the TV channels carried the footages grabbed by the close circuit cameras of the shopping complex.
