DHAKA: The law enforcers are guarding the important areas of the city as BNP-led 20 party alliance holding rally at Suhrawardy Udyan on Thursday.

They are on alert position from noon in Chankharpul, Shikkha Bhaban, Shahbagh intersection and Matsho Bhaban and other areas as the leaders and activists of alliance party from different wards came to join the rally.

The incident also created huge tailback in the city roads.

The political alliance organized the rally protesting the restoration of parliament’s authority to impeach Supreme Court judges for irregularities and incapacity.

The party did not made stage as they get late permission for the rally. Later, they prepared to do the rally using a truck.

BNP standing committee member and also convener of Dhaka metropolitan committee Mirza Abbas is presiding over the meeting.

Member secretary of Dhaka metropolitan committee Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel and Agriculturist Shamimur Rahman Shamim, among others, are present in the program.
