MYMENSINGH: The law enforcers detained district Jamaat-e-Islami secretary Abdul Karim and four others during a secret meeting in Dapunia Baat Bazar area of Sadar upazila on Thursday.

The other detainees are Din Mohammad, Ikbal Hossain, Golam Mostafa, and Manik Mia.

Officer-in-charge of Kotwali Thana Fazlul Karim, confirming the matter, said they were conducting the meeting around 4:45pm in the area without permission of police.

Police claimed that they all are Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Shibir leader and activists.

However, the detainees were taken to the police station.
