COMILLA: Law enforcers nabbed Golam Sarwar Shipon, Organizing Secretary of Comilla district Chhatra League, in a case filed for beating fellow party leader, from his residence in Chotra area of the town on Friday noon.

Inspector (investigation) of Kotwali Thana confirmed the matter to banglanews.

On September 3, some 30-35 followers of Shipon forcefully entered into a theatrical function at the honours building of the Government College and fired 8/9 rounds of bullet and vandalized five motorbikes.

During the time, they locked into a chase and counter chase with the followers of Comilla Government College Chhatra League leader Abdul Hadi.

Later in the night, activists of Shipon group chopped Abdul Hadi indiscriminately, leaving him critically injured.

Police arrested Shipon as Abdul Hadi filed a case with Kotwali Thana in this regard.
