FENI: Law enforcers detained a district leader of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on Saturday afternoon.

The arrestee is Manwar Hossain Dulal, joint secretary of BNP district unit.

Sources said that he was held from his residence in the afternoon.

Feni Additional Police Super (ASP) Saiful Haque told banglanews, that Dulal was arrested around 4:00pm following a case over destroying a market with a bulldozer on SSK road district town on ownership dispute.

The police officer added that Dulal opponent Hafez Ahmed, a businessman, filed the case bringing allegation that the BNP leader earlier vandalized the market in broad daylight and set fire.

However, sources said that a longtime dispute on ownership of the market was going on between Dulal and Hafez.
