BCL-Cop clash in Khulna, 4 hurt

KHULNA: Four activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) sustained bullet injury and two police men injured in a clash in North Bedkashi area of Koyra Upazila in the district early Monday. 

The injured are- Mehedi, Imadul, Rubel, and Tauhid. 

Sources said that a circus exhibition was continuing in the area from couple of days and the circus authority issued 30 tickets for BCL men for each day. 

But on the day, 50 BCL men tried to enter into exhibition without ticket and the circus authority obstructed them which triggered the clash around 12:50am.

Later, police rushed to the spot and opened fire to bring the situation under control, leaving two policemen and four BCL men injured.

Khulna District BCL Office Secretary Taslim Hussain told banglanews the injured were sent to upazila health complex. 

Koyra Thana Officer-in-Charge Subir Dutta confirmed the matter to banglanews.
