JP targets 151 seats in next poll

JHALAKATHI: Jatiya Party (JP) chairman HM Ershad said that his party is working to get some 151 seats in next national elections.

He came up with the disclosure in a bi-annual meeting of the party in Jhalakathi on Monday.

Mentioning no division in his party, Ershad said I am its chairman and will hold the party rest of my life.

He also said that BNP does not exist either at homes or on roads.

Jatiya Party exists both on roads and in movements, he added.

The JP chair expected that his party will be stronger.

“We will take part in the next national polls targeting 151 seats,” he said adding, “We will form the government with the majority of seats.”

JP secretary general Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu, water resources minister Anisul Islam Mahmud and presidium member Golam Kibria Tipu were among others present at the event.
