NARAYANGANJ: Giving a 48-hour ultimatum to the government to release district unit BNP president Advocate Taimur Alam Khandaker, BNP-led 20-party alliance called dawn-to-dusk hartal for Wednesday in the district. 

Member Secretary to 20-party alliance Maulana Moinuddin Ahmed made the hartal announcement from a rally at the district unit BNP office premises in the morning.

District BNP Joint Secretary Anwar Hossain Khan, Organizing Secretary Advocate Abul Kalam Azad Biswas, city BNP president Zahangir Alam, general secretary ATM Kamal, acting sonvener of Siddhirganj Thana BNP Ali Hossain and district Krishak Dal general secretary Uzzal Hossain, among others, addressed the rally.

On September 15, BNP leader Advocate Taimur Alam Khandaker was arrested in a shop occupying case from his office at Meherba Plaza in the city.
