DHAKA: The Detective Branch officials of Dhaka Metropolitan Police early Friday detained seven people, including Tasnim, the acting Ameer of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), a banned Islamic outfit.

Deputy Commissioner of DMP Media Center Masudur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.

DB police detained them from Turag area in Tongi Thana and recovered huge amount of explosives from them, he added.

Detail will be disclosed in a press briefing at 11:30am, he added.
