DHAKA: Leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its students wing Islami Chhattra Shibir staged demonstration in the city on Saturday morning.

Protesting the Supreme Court’s verdict on Jamaat leader Delawar Hossain Sayedee, they brought out a brisk procession and held a short rally in the city’s Khilgaon-Taltala area at 9:00am.

Shibir’s literature affairs secretary Yasin Arafat, planning secretary Shahin Ahmed, Dhaka city east Shibir unit Rezaul Haque Riaz, general secretary M Shamim, and organizing secretary Shariful Islam, among others, joined the demonstration.

They, however, left the scene before the arrival of lawmen there.
