Shibir-cop clash hurts 10 in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI: At least ten people, including two policemen, were injured in a clash between Jamaat-Shibir activists and law enforcers in front of Loknath School in the district on Saturday morning.

Witness said that Jamaat-Shibir activists brought out a procession in the area, protesting the Supreme Court verdict against convicted war criminal Jamaat leader Delwar Hossain Sayedee.

They also tried to stage a rally.

Then police protested them which triggered a clash, leaving 10 people, including two police officials, injured.

Meanwhile, police nabbed five people from the spot.

Confirming the matter, Boalia Thana Officer-in-Charge Abdus Sobhan said that the injured were given first aid.
