JESSORE:  Police, in separate drives, detained Ameer of district unit Jamaat-e-Islami and general secretary of Chaughachha upazila Chhatra Dal early Sunday for alleged plotting to conduct subversive acts.

The detainees are Maulana Abdur Rashid, Ameer of district unit Jamaat and Wasim, general secretary Chaughachha upazila Chhatra Dal.

Jessore assistant superintendent of police Reshma Sharmin told banglanews that police poicked up district Jamaat Ameer from his residence of suburban of the district town.

Choughaccha thana officer-in-charge Akram Hossain told banglanews that besides alleged plotting to commit subversive acts, Wasim was accused in several cases.
