RAJSHAHI: Police sued around 160 leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its students’ wing Islami Chhttra Shibir over an incident of clash with the lawmen in the divisional city.

Sub-Inspector Alamgir Hossain filed the lawsuit with Bolalia Thana at 11:00pm Saturday on charges of obstructing police’s duty and attacking them.

Top leaders of the city Jamaat and Shibir units were named in the case. Of the accused, five people were shown arrested.

Bolalia Thana Officer-In-Charge Abdus Sobhan confirmed the matter to banglanews.

On Saturday morning, Jamaat-Shibir men gathered to hold a protest rally in front of Rajarhat Lokhnath School in the city at 8:30am. As police foiled their effort, they exploded crude bombs and engaged in clashes with lawmen that left at least 10 people, including lawmen, injured.
