DHAKA: Police detained two activists of Islami Chhattra Shibir, students’ wings of Jamaat-e-Islami, from Shwrapara of the city’s Mirpur area on Sunday.

Details of the detainees could not be known yet.

Mirpur Thana Officer-In-Charge Salah Udin Ahmed confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Ahmed said, police had information that Shibir-men will carry out wide-rage destructive activities after bringing out a procession in the area. Police drove operations there when they began gathering there.

On arrival in the area, police chased them and nabbed two Shibir-men, he added.

The detainees are being interrogated at the thana.
