SYLHET: Five people were injured in multiple cocktail blasts during a clash between two fractions of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) in the divisional city on Monday morning.

Spot account said a clash ensued between newly-formed JCD committee and deprived Chhatra Dal leaders when deprived leaders attacked a pro-hartal procession of supporters of committee president Nurul Alam Siddik Khaled and exploded 10 cocktails there, leaving five people injured.

Kotwali thana officer-in-charge Monirul Islam told banglanews that on information, and addition police have been deployed in the area, they are on alert to avoid further untoward situations.
