DHAKA: A youth sustained bullet injury in police firing during the countywide hartal called by 20-party alliance on Monday.

The injured was identified as M Hanif Jony, 25, live in Kadamtala Basabo area in Rajarbagh.

Hanif said he went to the BNP possession with his friend in Madartek Bazar area. At one stage, he was hit by a bullet of police shotgun around 11:20 am.

Sub-inspector (SI) Ziaur Rahman of Sabujbagh Thana said police they informed about the matter but they were not confirmed about the vandalism.

He also said police opened fire for security reason. In the firing Jony were injured.

Later, he was taken to the Dhaka medical College Hospital.
