DHAKA: BNP joint secretary general Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon sent a legal notice to two secretaries and three judges demanding compensation for ‘unlawful’ 8-day imprisonment for setting fire on a bus.

Mentioning a claim of Tk 5 core, the notice said legal action would be taken if the compensation is not paid within one month.

The five defenders include law secretary, home secretary, Dhaka chief metropolitan magistrate Bikash Kumar Saha, Metropolitan magistrate Mohammad Erfan Ullah and former metropolitan magistrate Harunur Rashad.

Barrister Ragib Rouf Chowdhury on Monday sent the notice through a registry post mail on behalf of Khokon.
