PM wasting state money, says Fakhrul

DHAKA: BNP Acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Monday claimed that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been wasting state money by taking 180-member delegation with her to participate in the General Assembly of United Nations (UNGA).

The spokesperson for the party made the allegation while addressing a press conference at the Nayapaltan party office after the dawn-to-dusk hartal called by BNP-led 20-party.

Mirza Fakhrul also claimed that there are nine ministers and their wives, relatives of the premier herself including a secretary who has forged freedom fighter certificate in the visit.

He said, “It was not necessary for the premier to spend huge money for her entourage to participate in the UNGA.”

“This visit proves the allegation that the Prime Minister is been spending state-money and misusing her power,” he said.
