Khaleda terms govt “illegal, unelected”

FROM BRAHMANBARIA: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Tuesday claimed that chaos is existing in everywhere as there is no elected government in the country.

“The incumbent government is illegal. Did you cast vote in the last election?” she said putting question. 

The BNP chief came up with the allegation while addressing a rally at Niaz Mohammad High School ground in the district in the afternoon.

She also said, “How an unelected government stays in parliament, how they talk tall and pass law?”

The former premier also alleged: “This government is itself violating the constitution and this lead to deteriorate law-and-order situation. Countrymen are witnessing murder, disappearance daily.”

She also added: “The Awami League government using Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) for torturing and oppression of the opponent party-men.”

The BNP chief also alleged that Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) killed 310 leaders and activists of her party and disappeared 36 and tortured many others.

Senior leaders, including its standing committee members Mirza Abbas, Vice-chairman Selima Rahman, Khaleda’s security affairs advisor major general (retd) Fazle Elahi Akbar, press secretary Maruf Kamal Khan Sohel, and Dhaka city BNP member secretary Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel, among others, accompanied her.
