DHAKA: Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu urged Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami leaders and activists to turn back to the righteous way leaving the path of militancy, fundamentalism and anti-liberation movements.

He made the urge in the dawn on Wednesday during inaugurating the Mahalaya of Banani-Gulshan Sarbojonin Pujamondop in city.

Information minister said there that this is such a time, when to decide ‘side’ and Jamaat to decide which side they are going to take.

However, sources told banglanews that the Mahalaya, an auspicious occasion that heralds the advent of goddess Durga and observed seven days before the Durga Puja, was started around 5:00am.

Banani-Gulshan Sarbojonin Puja Udjapon Parishad president Kanutosh Majumder was also present, among others at the program.
