Shramik Dal’s rival group declares committee

DHAKA: Rival group of Jatiyatabadi Shramik Dal, labour wing of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), declared its new committee with 35 members.

Rival group leader Abul Khayer Khaza made the announcement at a press conference at National Press Club on Wednesday.

He claimed himself as general secretary and AM Nazim Uddin as president of the committee.

But Nazim Uddin was not present at the conference.

Claiming the previous committee as illegal Abul Khayer Khaza, in his speech, said that the committee chief Nazrul Islam formed a 15-member subject committee ignoring the opinions of councilors of national council held on April 19-20 as well as violating the constitution.

Later, he (Nazrul Islam) declared a 34-member central executive committee after a meeting with 6-7 persons loyal to him, Khaza added.

The rival leader argued that it (Nazrul Islam’s committee) is illegal because no BNP leader has approved the committee.
