JAMALPUR: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson Khaleda Zia stepped on the stage at Jamalpur Zilla School ground amid applause and cheer from 20-party supporters on Saturday afternoon.

From Saturday morning, thousands of 20-party alliance activists started gathering at the venue, adjacent to Jamalpur stadium. 

Using Bus, Truck, Tempu, Motorbikes, Van and Rickshaw, activists were seen moving towards the rally venue with banners, festoons and pictures of Khaleda Zia, Tarique Rahman and others leaders of the parties.

In her speech in the rally, Khaleda Zia is likely to press home the demand for mid-term election under non-party caretaker government, stopping murder-kidnapping, cancellation of 16th amendment of the constitution.

Jamalpur BNP president Faridul Kabir Talukdar Shamim is presiding over the rally.

Earlier, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia left Dhaka for Jamalpur district on Friday afternoon.
