SYLHET: At least five people were injured in a clash between two groups of Chhatra Dal in Zindabazar intersection area of in the district on Saturday noon.

Witnesses said post deprived Chhatra Dal activists attacked the procession that the newly formed district and city Chhatra Dal leaders and activists brought out at Zindabazar intersection.

They blasted 30-40 crude bombs to spread panic, witnesses said.

Later, police opened fire rubber bullets and teargas shells to bring the situation under control by dispersing the two groups, leaving five injured, they added.

Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Thana Monirul Islam told banglanews that no one was held in this connection.
