Latif Siddique summoned again

DHAKA: Three Dhaka courts summoned Abdul latif Siddique, posts, telecommunications and information technology minister, again in four more cases for his derogatory comments on religion.

Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court’s magistrate Atikur Rahman on Thursday summoned the minister in the separate cases filed by AB Siddique and Advocate Shah Alam.

The court asked Latif to appear before it on October 29 in the case filed by AB Siddique but the magistrate did not fix any date in another case filed by Advocate Shah Alam.

The minister was summoned in a total of six cases in city.

Earlier in the morning, Jananetri Parishad president AB Siddique, Advocate Shah Alam, Nazimuddin Badal and Lions Abu Bakar Siddique filed four separate cases under 295 (Ka) and 298 sections of penal code.

Moreover, Nazimuddin Badal filed a case in magistrate Shahriar Mahmud Adnan’s court and Lions Abu Bakar Siddique filed a case in magistrate Mahbubur Rahman’s court.

The two courts also summoned Latif to appear before them without mentioning any certain dates.

Earlier on Wednesday, Abdul Latif Siddique was summoned in two separate cases for his obnoxious remarks on religion.

The CMM court ordered the minister to appear before it on October 28 in the case filed by the Supreme Court’s senior lawyer KMM Abed Raza and on October 30 in the case, filed by plaintiff Alhajj Mohammad Badal.
