DHAKA: BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir convened an urgent press conference to brief media about party reaction on Latif Siddique’s derogatory remarks on Hajj and PM’s New York tour.

The press meet will be held at the party chairperson Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan office in the city at 6:00pm on Friday.

Party sources confirmed the matter to banglanews.

BNP’s conference is scheduled to be held hours after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina held a press conference in the afternoon about the outcome of her attending United Nations General Assembly from September 22-29.

The premier may also cover the issue of Dhaka courts’ summon order to posts, telecommunications and information technology minister Abdul latif Siddique’s derogatory comments on religion.

Leaders of BNP-led 20-party alliance will attend the conference.
