NILPHAMARY: Jatiya Party (JP) chairman Hussain Muhammad Ershad declared his younger brother GM Quader as candidate for Nilphamary-3 constituency.

Ershad made the declaration while delivering speech as chief guest in a meeting organized by JP Jaldhaka upazila unit at Jaldhaka Upazila Parishad hall room on Sunday.

Claiming the JP ministers free from corruption, he said if they were corrupt they could make huge money in their tenure.

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) leadership is now in crisis. For their weakness they could not even protest on the anti-Islam remarks of Latif Shidiquee, Ershad added.

The JP chairman demanded gallows for him at first.

Quader said some people tried to annihilate JP but they failed. He urged the JP leaders and activists to organize the party and prevent all conspiracy.

Opposition whip Shawkat Chowdhury, district JP convener Mahbub Ali Bulu, joint-convener Sazzad Parvez, among others, were present at the event chaired by Jaldhaka municipality mayor and upazila JP convener Ilias Hossain Bablu.
