Latif Siddique tops AL meeting agenda

DHAKA: The main agenda of Awami League Central Working Committee (ALCWC) meeting is Latif Siddique’s withdrawal from the party and cabinet following some derogatory remarks.

The meeting will be held on October 12 Sunday evening.

Earlier, the prime minister and also the party chief, Sheikh Hasina, took the removal decision of Latif.

On September 28 (Sunday), Latif Siddique demeaned Hajj in his speech while addressing a programme organized by Tangail Samity at a New York hotel in USA.

He opined that “Hajj is a waste of manpower. Those who perform hajj do not have any productivity”. They deduct from the economy, spend a lot of money abroad.

Pointing to Tablig Jamaat, he said Tablig Jamaat create huge traffic congestion in the name of Ijtima.

He also remarked about prime minister’s son and advisor of information technology affairs.

Another agenda of the meeting are mourn proposal, latest information of socio-economic condition, political condition, organization’s activities and others.
