MIRSHARAI (CHITTAGONG): Miscreants killed the convener of Mirsharai upazila unit Chhatra Dal at Bhorer Bazar area under Shaherkhali union in the upazila of the district on Thursday night.

The deceased was identified as Adil Mahmood, 25.

Shaherkhali union parisad chairman Mostafa Chowdhury told banglanews that a 7/8 member gang of Shafi group of local BNP attacked Adil while he was taking tea at a tea stall at Bhorer Bazar area around 8:30pm.

During the attack, Adil tried to flee from the spot but the miscreants chopped him from behind, leaving him injured critically, he added.

Later the miscreants cut his ankles’ tendons to ensure death, Mostafa Chowdhury added.

Convener of upazila unit BNP Nurul Amin confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Nurul Amin also said that they rushed Adil to Matrika Hospital where on duty doctors declared him dead.

The incident might have happened over property related disputes with neighbours.
