CHITTAGONG: BNP has called a dawn-to-dusk shutdown in Mirsarai upazila for Sunday protesting killing of upazila Chhatra Dal convener Adil Mahmud.

The BNP leaders and activists also staged demonstration and demanded arrest and penalty of the killers of Adil.

Convener of Mirsarai upazila BNP Nurul Amin made the hartal announcement in a protest program on Friday noon.

Earlier on Thursday night, a gang of miscreants chopped Adil dead in Shaherkhali union of the upazila.

A case was filed with Mirsarai Thana by the father of the deceased.

Confirming the matter to banglanews Officer-in-Charge of Mirsarai Thana Imtiaz Bhuiyan said that the law enforcers are on alert position to nab the guilty people.
