Latif’s fate to be decided on Sunday

SAVAR (DHAKA): Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Friday said the fate of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Abdul Latif Siddique for his derogatory remarks on hajj and Tablighi Jamaat will be decided on Sunday.

The minister was talking to the journalists after inaugurating a 100-metre constructed bridge in Ashulia, outskirt of Dhaka in the afternoon.

Obaidul said that a meeting of the Awami League Central Working Committee has been called on next Sunday. Disciplinary actions would be taken against Latif there as the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has already announced of taking tough action against him.

The incidence of Latif is a warning-massage for those who are making careless remarks holding important posts, he added.
