DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Sunday deferred the charge framing hearing against 67 leaders and activists of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) till November 5 in the cases of vandalizing and torching vehicles.

Among the accused, BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and BNP standing committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed appeared before the court.

Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court judge Tarique Moinul Islam passed the order in response to time plea filed by defense lawyers in the two cases.

Advocate Joynul Abedin Mezbah moved for the defendants in the case.

On March 3, the two cases were filed with Paltan and Shahbagh Thanas under the speedy trial tribunal act.
