DHAKA: The Anti-corruption Commission (ACC) quizzed BNP Standing Committee Member Mirza Abbas, also Dhaka city BNP convener, for his alleged involvement over allocation of a land by Rajdhani Unnayan Kartipakkha (RAZUK).

ACC Deputy Director Jatan Kumar Roy started quizzing him from around 3:00pm Sunday at its head office in city’s Segun Bagicha area.

The seven acres of land in Mirpur was allotted to the Dhaka Journalists Cooperatives Limited during last BNP-Jamaat government's tenure when Mirza Abbas was the minister of the housing and public works ministry and his deputy Alamgir Kabir.

ACC, on March 6, field the case for allocating the seven acres of land to the journalists' co-operatives at Tk 3.39 crore though the market value of the land was Tk 19 crore.

The accused are former minister Alamgir along with former deputy director Azaharul Haque and office assistant Matiar Rahman and cashier Mansur Alam of the National Housing Authority.
