Rafiqul for stern movement

DHAKA: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) standing committee member Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia on Saturday observed that the politics of BNP would not be revived only by organizing some seminars and meetings.

“The BNP can be sustained through all out movement,” he said.

The senior BNP leader made the observation while addressing discussion on ‘Tarique Rahman and Bangladesh Present Politics’ organized by Jatiyatabadi Samajik Sangskritik Sangstha (JASAS) at Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU).

Rafiqul said there is no other way except movement to protect the country from the autocratic government.

He also claimed that Tarique Rahman is facing obstacles to return in Bangladesh and he was victim of conspiracy.

Advisor to BNP chairperson Advocate Ahmed Azam Khan, Information and Research Affairs Secretary of BNP Habibur Rahman Habib were among others present at the discussion.

JASAS Convener Dr Arifur Rahman Mollah presided over the discussion.
