DHAKA: The High Court (HC) granted six month interim bail to Habibur Rashid, former general secretary of Jatyatabadi Chhattra Dal (JCD)– student wing of Bangladesh Nationalist Party, on Sunday.

An HC bench comprising Justice Borhanuddin and Justice KM Kamrul Kader handed down the order.

The defendant lawyers told banglanews that there is no bar to release Habib out of jail now after the bail order.

Habib was detained from city’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on September 26 and later was shown arrested in a case filed with Shahbagh Thana on October 23.

Advocate Khadakar Mahbub Hossain and Advocate Masud Rana moved for Habib at the court.
