DHAKA: BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir held a meeting with  JCD post deprived leaders centering the newly formed JCD committee on Sunday afternoon.

Earlier, leaders and activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), student wing of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), locked into sporadic clashes in front of party’s Nayapaltan central office.

The clashes began among the followers of leaders who got post and who were deprived of post in the newly formed JCD committee.

Several cocktails were blasted and six people were injured in the clashes.

Mirza Fakhrul started a closed door meeting with the post deprived leaders around 5:15pm.

On the other hand, the agitated followers of the post deprived leaders besieged the central party office of BNP.

The president and general secretary of newly formed JCD Rajib Hasan and Akramul Hasan are still confined in the party office at Nayapaltan.
